General Info: Many ELECTRONIC LEVELS can be toggled to cast a sloped laser plane. However, SLOPE LASERS have a grade counter into which an accurate grade reading can be set, usually in Percent Grade (see SLOPE vs %GRADE). Dual Slope (also called Compound Grade) Lasers allow grade settings in both X and Y axis simultaneously or individually. A peepsite or collimator is located on the top of SLOPE LASERS to assist in aiming the sloped laser plane in the correct direction. For many applications, the peepsite is adequate in obtaining approximate LINE. However, for accurate alignment of a SLOPE LASER, a method termed RAKING IN is used. |
